The first event to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Centre was a great success. Despite the threat of snow and freezing temperatures, our members of the centre participated in this event. The Cheese Rolling contest on 16th February, which was the start of the build up to the Chester Food, Drink and Lifestyle Festival (www.chesterfoodanddrink.com), was closely battled out and this year's winning team was The Cheese Shop who beat the Fire Brigade.
During the event members of the public donated £260 to our volunteer bucket collectors, which was great, and after the race the ceremonial cheese was presented to the Lord Mayor by MS Support Centre member Dot Naylor.
Thanks to one and all who donated for the centre.
Following is the link of the Centre's participation in the event.

New Hope for Cure of MS....???
A study in New York (University of Buffalo) opens the possibility of identifying a treatment and found evidence that sufferers are benefiting from surgery which unblocks veins in the neck. American study backs initial study findings in Italy.
Scientists have discovered that people with MS are more than twice as likely to have abnormal neck blood flow.More than 55% of MS patients participating in the Buffalo research were found to have the neck abnormality, a condition called chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency, or CCSVI.
The above results could change the way we view multiple sclerosis.
Martin Jones(MS patient) travelled to Poland for the surgery and feels its early days, but it's looking good so far," he said.
Robert Zivadinov, associate professor of neurology and principal investigator on the study, said he was "cautiously optimistic and excited" about the results.
But, it is very early and premature to get into conclusions, more evidance ins needed and research has to be done in large group of numbers and lot much research has to done into this.
